Join us for a virtual Civic Conversation hosted by the Newport Historical Society on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, 5-7pm. Moderated by our experienced team, Jim Ludes and G. Wayne Miller of Story in the Public Square, we will assemble a diverse group of thoughtful individuals to ask ourselves: “How much do we love democracy?”
Recent reporting has suggested that many young people do not feel an articulated commitment to democracy, and they may not be alone. A constant for many of us, both nationally and in previous Civic Conversations, is that we love our American freedoms. But, examples from the past and present suggest these would not be secure without our democratic system, no matter how flawed. Let’s talk about it.
