Great Coats and Greatcoats, Seasonal Wardrobes in 18th Century: A Newport Historical Society History Space Event

What’s the difference between a great coat and a greatcoat? Whether winter stays late, or spring comes early, you’ve got to change your wardrobe!  Learn how 18th century Newporters stayed comfortable despite the change in seasons. 

This event will take place at the Colony House, located at the top of Washington Square, on April 24, 2021 from 10am-2pm. Visitors are required to wear a cloth or medical face mask and practice social distancing with anyone outside of their “quaranteam.”

Admission is free, donations are welcome.
