The Newport Historical Society continues to ring the historic Colony House bell each Friday at noon as a show of solidarity with Newport’s community; we have been joined by a growing number of participating organizations, as well as by Newporters at home, who ring their handheld bells in the spirit of togetherness. We believe that through conflict, moral growth and moral failings, economic highpoints and depressed depths, in diversity, and in spite of prejudice, inequities, differences and disputes, we are all here, together.
You might also notice that NHS has hung a banner in the window of its Resource Center to show our commitment to the #NewportTogether movement. To show your support, feel free to print and display #NewportTogether signs of your own at home! To load PDFs for download, click the icons below.
If you are not able to print a sign, we encourage you to make one of your own! If you do so, please show us your handiwork by tagging us on Instagram @newporthistory, Facebook @NewportHistory, or on Twitter @NewportHistory. You can also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
