Author Harry Eudenbach will highlight how Newport’s rich Colonial history set the stage for two centuries of horticultural pursuits by well-to-do Aquidneck Island estate owners. He will focus on the individual gardeners who cared for and nurtured Newport’s renowned gardens and landscapes.

Harry Eudenbach was born and raised in Newport and is the head gardener at a private estate. He has a strong interest in the unique story of the estate gardeners of Newport beginning in the 18th century. He is the author of Estate Gardeners of Newport: A Horticultural Legacy which tells the never-before-told story about the horticulture expertise Newport gardeners provided to wealthy estate owners and the trade secrets passed down through generations.

A book signing will follow the presentation. Estate Gardeners of Newport will be available for purchase for $21 plus tax. Admission costs $5 per person, $1 for Newport Historical Society members. Reservations requested. Persons with mobility issues should call in advance. 401-841-8770
