The Newport Art Museum’s latest exhibit, Very Simple Charm: The Early Life and Work of Richard Morris Hunt in Newport, 1858-1878, is the first exhibit to feature the early work of the notable architect Richard Morris Hunt.

The exhibit highlights several images from the Newport Historical Society’s extensive photo collection. It includes stereographic images and photographs, some by Newport photographer Joshua Appleby Williams. Examples of houses included Gull Rock, Hypotenuse, Restmere, Hill Top and The Corners (the Charlotte Cushman Residence). A reproduction of a drawing by Hunt from the NHS collection is also featured.
