The Resource Center is home to the Newport Historical Society’s main offices, library, special collections reading room, and secure collections storage. Collections document the history of Newport County and consist of approximately 10,000 objects, 12,000 books, over 1,500 linear feet of manuscript materials, and more than 200,000 photographs. We invite you to visit the Resource Center to conduct research in our collections. Our staff will assist you during your visit, but we cannot guarantee service to walk-ins due to limited staff availability. We strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment in advance and review our Reference and Research Guidelines.
